WHAT: Presentations and dialog with Naval War College Faculty Members: Prof’s Dr. Tom Fedyszyn, Dr. Rick Norton, Dr. Al Shimkus and Colonel Doug Wadsworth, USMC. In addition to strong academic credentials, each of these Naval War College faculty members has current experience in the conflicts facing us today.
Seven sessions over the two days will address
- future geopolitical forces;
- implications of technological advances;
- the role of reconstruction and humanitarian assistance as a necessary complement to military operations; and
- the future of the USMC and the Navy.
An eighth session, Panel and Open Group Discussion, will involve all audience participants interacting with the faculty.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Everyone with a sincere interest in an in-depth, insider look at national security issues – far beyond what you may learn from the NY Times or other media.
WHERE: College of San Mateo Theatre: Building #3 in the Fine Arts Department.
Located just west of Hwy. 92, between US-101 and I-280. Take the West Hillsdale Blvd. exit and follow the signs. Visitor parking is free on weekends; go to “Beethoven #2” lot on Hillsdale Blvd. at the top of the hill. Building #3 is very close to this lot.
WHEN: Saturday/Sunday March 27-28, 2010: 7AM – 4:30PM each day; Continental Breakfast included (because of campus renovations, no on-campus lunches will be provided this year). Program begins at 8:15AM.
